Livingstone Presents,
Macbeth - Lord Macduff, 45YO
40.8% ABV
Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distilled at Bunnahabhain Distillery for 45 years in refill sherry butts, Lord Macduff is a limited release of 100 bottles and is 1 of 5 Regal Malt Whiskies in The Leads Series.
This series of Shakespearean Scotch whiskies is the product of a collaboration between design studio Livingstone, whisky writer Dave Broom, Elixir Distillers and the legendary illustrator Sir Quentin Blake.
“On occasion, a distillery can capture a particular time and place through the flavours of its spirit. Throughout the 60s and 70s Bunnahabhain stood separate from both the mainland and its Islay kin, creating flavours of orchard fruit and barley sugar; maritime but without the smoke. As with our character, any lightness has been weathered by experience in solitude, while the notes of baked apples, toffee and tarragon allow this malt to grow and become the true hero in our story.” - Oliver Chilton, Head Distiller at Elixir Distillers
Notes from whisky writer Dave Broom:
Time has been served,
love known and lost.
Autumn’s ripe soft fruits start to dry;
the heart’s sweetness clinging on as concentration shifts.
The complexities of revenge and love are woven together,
opposites in equilibrium.
No recklessness,
just intent and determination.
An angelic avenger.
Lord Macduff:
"I have no words — My voice is in my sword…" - Macbeth Act V SC.8 LN.7 William Shakespeare
