Islay's Farm Distillery

Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is Islay’s only farm distillery, producing Scotland’s only Single Farm Single Malt. 

Following the landmark release of the 16 Year Old in 2023, Kilchoman have treated us to another significant age statement with the 13 Years Old.

This limited release has been matured for 13 years in a combination of bourbon barrels, octaves and calvados casks, allowing the whisky to exude an abundance of juicy fresh fruits and Islay maritime peat smoke.

The ex-bourbon casks make up the large part of the vatting, lending that unmistakable Kilchoman character, while the addition of calvados casks, which may surprise a few people, infuses vibrant green apple and fresh fruit notes into the mix.”

Tasting Notes

Nose:  Fragrant and delicate with bursting notes of fresh pineapple, hibiscus and lemon sherbets.

Taste: Herbaceous with undertones of dried apple granola, caramelised puffed wheat and buttered popcorn.

Finish: Light and graceful with reminiscence of orchard fruits and zesty freshness.
