Macbeth, Second Murderer, 17YO (700ml)
Livingstone Presents,
Macbeth - Second Murderer 17YO
48.5% ABV
Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distilled on the Isle of Jura in oloroso sherry hogsheads, Second Murderer has a limited release of 1200 bottles and is 1 of 4 Island Malt Whiskies in The Murderers series.
This series of Shakespearean Scotch whiskies is the product of a collaboration between design studio Livingstone, whisky writer Dave Broom, Elixir Distillers and the legendary illustrator Sir Quentin Blake.
“For some years now, this distillery on the Isle of Jura has been producing peated malt and this richly smoky character has been tempered in oloroso sherry hogsheads, complimenting the oily spirit with sandalwood and an amaro-style herbaceousness. The peat smoke itself is linear and cutting, while the cask profile has created a backdrop for our second murderous whisky.”
- Oliver Chilton, Head Distiller at Elixir Distillers
A thin flame rises from damp wood.
The smell of wet wool and a sodden autumn’s bracken.
Seed cake crumbs fleck the thin rags.
A sharp profile in cold moonlight,
the smoke clings to the sallow flesh.
There can be no mercy.
"I am one, my liege,
Whom the vile blows and buffets of the world
Hath so incens’d that I am reckless what
I do to spite the world". - Macbeth Act III SC.3 LN.16, William Shakespeare
