Amrut presents to you an intricate single malt that boasts of a mosaic of tastes and flavours lent by a variety of oak staves.

Initially matured in Ex-Bourbon Barrel, the single malt is transferred to a custom-built, unique barrel that is constructed out of not one but four varieties of Oak-

American oak with level three charring, French Oak with slight toasting, Ex Oloroso Sherry stave and Ex- Px Sherry stave.

The result is a complex single malt that will both engross and delight you in equal measure.

A very limited release of only 6000 bottles, sure to please the most fastidious connoisseur. 

 

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Dried mango and vanilla lead with star anise, burnt oak, vanilla, and caramel in support.

TASTE: Sandalwood and more vanilla appear among caraway, blackberry jam, and coconut cream.

FINISH: Dried fruit and vanilla sponge remain.

About the Distillery

Amrut are the pioneers of Indian single malt whisky being the first to be made in India. Amrut or amrita is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as "nectar of the gods", "nectar of life", or "drink of the gods". The distillery sources its barley from the Himalayas and ages the whisky at an altitude of over 3,000 feet above sea level in Bangalore. In this climate, the angels take way more than their share as up to 15% ABV of the whisky is lost per year. The resulting spirit has netted Amrut with hundreds of awards around the globe.
