Cadenhead, Small Batch Glenrothes 9YO (700ml)
Cadenhead Small Batch
Glenrothes 2009 (9YO)
65.3% ABV
Cadenhead ‘Small Batch’ are always 2-3 cask bottlings – bottled at cask strength. The Glenrothes distillery specialises in Sherry-matured whiskies. The term ‘sherry-bomb’ is used extensively when describing Glenrothes distillery releases. This Cadenehead’s Glenrothes 2009 expression is a very interesting whisky in that it is an ex-Bourbon cask aged Glenrothes. So, this is a rare opportunity to taste a ‘what if’. What if Glenrothes aged in Bourbon casks?

Taste: Lemon drizzle cake, touches of white pepper, freshly mown grass, autumnal forests with blackberries and raisin butter.
Finish: Tingling spices give way to warm toffee sauce and cranberries.
