A handful of distillers relying entirely on expertise and senses to make the finest handmade whisky; Speyside single malt matured exclusively in first-fill casks, with a subtly smoky character along with their renowned Red Door Gin. Recalling the Speyside tradition of topping up fires with cuts of peat when coal ran low, the Scottish barley is grown locally and malted with a little peat smoke to Benromach's exact specifications before being ground into grist in their 120 year-old four-roller Boby Mill.
