Hunter Laing, Platinum Old & Rare

Glen Garioch 1988 (31YO)

Single Cask Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Packaged in a striking presentation box, this single cask single malt scotch comes from family-run indie bottler Hunter Laing & Co.

Specially selected and bottled for the Heritage series in the Platinum Old & Rare Selection, this expression was distilled at Glen Garioch in the Highlands in 1988, before the 1995 closure and during the period in which the distillery was still using peated floor malting.

Matured for more than three decades, it has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.1% abv free from all chill filtration and artificial colouring.

Just 223 bottles have been produced of this limited edition.

Tasting Notes

This dark gold whisky has a herbal nose with notes of gingerbread, black tea, and cocoa powder.

Oranges on the palate, with stewed apples and a hint of Turkish Delight.

The finish is long and grassy, with a touch of coffee.
