A beautiful suite of six ancient Islay gems, the Kinship Series is a yearly release from Independent Bottler, Hunter Laing & Co. celebrating the Feis Ile Festival as their new Ardnahoe Distillery comes on-line.

Highly sought after and in short supply, the series is available in its individual parts or as a whole.

No. 2 in the 2020 Kinship series is a 28YO Ardbeg, aged in a refill hogshead carefully selected by Scott Laing which yielded 251 bottles.

Expect a rich and robust body, unmistakeable in its origins with a wonderful contrast of layers.

The nose is presented with salt-sprayed peat, iodine, clove, cookie dough, heather honey, and cinnamon.

Quite tarry on the palate, with medicinal notes, liquorice, camphorwood, and a touch of orange zest along with peat as on a sea breeze.

It leads to a lemony, lingering, and effortlessly elegant finish.
