Single Malts of Scotland, Reserve Cask Teaninich 11YO (700ml)
Single Malts of Scotland, Reserve Casks
Teaninich 2007-2009 (11YO)
48% ABV
The Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks are a flavour-led exploration of fine single malts, bottled in small batches of four to ten casks. Each parcel of bottles shows the variety of styles and flavours found across Scotland, and the differences in angel’s share depending on region. Bottled at a consistent 48% with no added colour and no chill-filtration, the Reserve Casks are intended to suit the palates of both novices and experts alike.
A batch of five ex-bourbon hogsheads from Teaninich distillery was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and aged for more than 11 years.
Joyful and comforting all at once, deliciously blending the savoury with the sweet for a memorable tipple.
Region: Highlands
Tasting Notes
Nose: Golden-syrup-sponge pudding jumps out, leading on to a cooled matcha latte. A juicy chopped kiwi is left on a wooden chopping board, mingling with the unmistakable freshness of a new cardboard box.
Taste: Mint-dark-chocolate is crumbled on fluffy sponge fingers. Pleasant savoury notes drift in, with maple cured guanciale and torn purple basil. Madeira cake slices, soaked in tinned fruit cocktail syrup, line the trifle bowl ready for the next layers to be added.
Finish: Ear thy and decadent rosemary-and-truffle crisps, together with ground blade mace and warming parsnip soup, have the last word.
