A departure from Kilkerran's typically lightly peated single malt, The Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM.
Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.

Cask Maturation: 90% Bourbon 10% Sherry 

Tasting Notes:

Nose: In typical Kilkerran style, there is a citrus element on the nose with notes of lemon and key lime pie, along with touches of toasted rye bread and peat smoke.

Palate: There are notes of toasted marshmallows and campfire embers immediately on the palate, with hints of vanilla and custard.

Finish: The smokiness carries through to the finish, along with a mineral note to round off this dram.
