The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a balanced single malt whisky created by bringing the perfect harmony of two oaks into one exceptional single malt whisky. Sherry seasoned American oak adds delicate vanilla to the subtle spice of European oak, delivering a whisky with a sweeter, warmer taste, and character. With Double Cask 15 Years Old, the delicate and indulgent flavours of American oak including honey, citrus and chocolate balance The Macallan’s more traditional characteristics of rich fruits, sherry and wood spice.

The Macallan brings American oak to Spain, where the casks are crafted by hand and filled with dry Oloroso sherry. Once seasoned, the casks are shipped to the Speyside distillery and filled with ‘new make’ spirit. 15 years later, the Whisky Mastery Team selects the perfect balance of spirit from both casks to create a unique single malt with a sweet, warm character. The golden butterscotch colour is 100% natural and comes from exceptional oak casks.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Dried fruit, toffee and vanilla with smooth oak and baked apple. Balanced with notes of honey and chocolate.

Taste: Sweet raisin and sultana builds with hints of vanilla, wood spice and citrus.

Finish: Warm with ginger turning to caramel and citrus, with a lingering and creamy mouth feel.
